The Frog's Folly- Route 66 Park Oklahoma City

On the shores of Lake Overholser in Oklahoma City you will find Route 66 Park. The park is located on the west side of the lake at 9901 NW 23.

From the Observation Tower, visitors can get a sweeping, panoramic view the 148-acre Park's three ponds and Lake Overholser.

Park features include:

  • The Parks and Recreation Department's largest playground
  • Cyrus Avery Observation Tower (three stories tall)
  • Route 66 Plaza
  • Small amphitheatre (accommodates 80 - 100 people seated)
  • Approximately one mile of winding walking trails
  • Three ponds containing wetland boardwalks, bridges, plantings and interpretive signage
  • Covered picnic pavilion

A stamped map depicting the historic Mother Road's route from Chicago to Santa Monica is featured in the park's Route 66 Plaza. Thirty-four landmarks from Lincoln's birthplace in Springfield to the Harvey House in Barstow, California are featured along the eight-state map. You can't help but hum Nat King Cole as you walk the route that inspired the catching song.
